Many ideas arise between cypresses and paths, like dreams and visions of an important past and to be known in order to divulge the present of an ancient and ramified civilization, of a society that has a lot to tell and to rediscover.
The idea of making the heritage kept beyond the gates of our municipal cemetery visible and enjoyable was born from this pretext. A journey through art, history and poetry intended to tell, almost like a book, private dramas and sadnesses that become public in those spaces, as if to petrify the suffering and mourning of families.
The Monumental Cemetery that we have imagined is a place where it is possible to intertwine different readings: it reflects not only the passages of the various artistic seasons, but also the history and the representative image of the city. Scrolling through the names engraved on the tombstones is in fact like consulting a sort of Who is of the country, an extraordinary register of historical events, aesthetic tastes and arts in the making, a real open-air museum.
